What
Does REPA do?
REPA seeks to improve the
standard of local development by:
Helping residents with interpretation
of The
City Plan and to examine restrictions relating to the new Rural and Environment
Protected Areas. Including assisting in the retention of environmental and aesthetic values in Brookfield/Pullenvale/Pinjarra Hills/Anstead/Moggill areas
within the confines of the new City plan.
Engaging in active dialogue with the City Council on
environmental issues e.g. Mt Coot-tha Development Control Plan, Land for
Wildlife, Voluntary Conservation Agreements.
Supporting environmentally sensitive development
applications.
Objecting to insensitive development and, if necessary,
taking the developer to court.
Recent examples have been our successful objection to
high-density housing on the Woodcrest Estate; our objection to high-density
development of land at Greentrees Avenue; and our continuing input into
achieving optimal environmental outcomes for residents who might be affected by
the proposed hardrock quarry at Kholo Creek.

WE ALSO:
Maintain a watchful eye on potential major issues such as a possible Western
Brisbane Bypass and other transport issues.
Consider the merits and demerits of all development applications for our area,
recommending improvements where desirable.
Support environmental groups undertaking revegetation within the REPA area,
including Moggill Creek and Pullen Pullen Creeks Catchment Groups.
Promote revegetation with species native to our area through our book "Putting
Back the Forest: A Landcare Guide for Broofield, Pullenvale and Moggill"
(written and produced by REPA members).
Promote knowledge of weeds and weed control through articles in the
Brookfield Chronicle and other publications.
Organise an annual walk each spring to places of scenic or cultural interest
within our area.
Provide an information stand at the annual Brookfield Show.
